B Corp certification is the most rigorous independent standard for ethical business practice. To achieve it, a company must meet comprehensive performance standards across five areas: workers, community, environment, customers and governance -- and recertify every three years. It is not a self-certification. It is not a label that can be bought.
At the ethical gift box, B Corp Certified is one of our 14 ethical criteria. Products from B Corp certified suppliers -- and from certified social enterprises -- are clearly labelled. We are also a certified social enterprise ourselves, and are working towards our own B Corp certification, which we expect to achieve in 2027 or 2028.

Recertification is required every three years. Social enterprise is a broader category -- it describes organisations that trade primarily for social or environmental purposes rather than profit. Social enterprises may or may not hold B Corp certification. Both are recognised in our ethical criteria framework. the ethical gift box is a certified social enterprise and is working towards B Corp certification.
