This vibrant cushion is made entirely from upcycled fabric offcuts collected by a local cooperative from garment factories in Northern Thailand .
A group of village ladies then transform the "waste" into a colourful and durable fabric using a traditonal hand loom. Each one entirely unique.
Born and raised in Chiang Mai, Lamai was one of seven children.
Her parents made clothes for the children using hand processed and sewn cotton from the family's cotton farm, and as a result, at a young age Lamai learnt to transform silk and cotton using a hand loom.
Family is very important to Lamai and she still lives together with her older sister, who although over 90, continues to sew bags made from fabric offcut pieces.
