Description of Big Nose & Beardy Boar's Back Vintage Cider (330ml)

Award winning real Sussex Cider - One off small batches of real cider made from donated and discarded apples from commercial growers pressed with enthusiasm!

An extremely drinkable mix of Cox and Bramley apples from Laurel Tree farm at Boars Head, topped off with Dabinet from Quarry Farm. There's a lot going on: crisp acidity gives way to sweetness and a mellow tannin finish.

Lots of funky notes to spark your interest and the slow maturation lends a soft butteryness. Apple peel, sweet apple flesh, chewy apple core, it’s all here.

Flat, still, and unfiltered, the cider is slow fermented in small batches. It's left alone for months and months to let nature do it’s thing.

  • Strength: 6.4% ABV.

At every step of the cider making process from picking, to pressing to packing, Bignose & Beardy ensure sustainability is at the core. The apples used for making their cider are either donated from private gardens and orchards locally, or left over fruit from commercial growers which would otherwise go to waste.

The Apple pressing process uses a combination of solar, water and human power and a hydra press uses mains water pressure to squeeze out the juice. All the other processes are manual and take place at the cidery in Framfield.
